What’s coming up

This week, we have the pleasure of attending a CCCNZ pastors retreat in the beautiful Taupo. It’s a time to literally retreat and rest and connect with pastors in all areas of NZ, as well as pray and encourage each other.

We are reading through Philippians together.

So no front page this week, but here are the other notices.

Daniel 9 and 10

This last week, we covered Daniel 8. A beautiful reminder for you to;

• Stay resilient and dedicated, like Daniel.

• Remember, God is sovereign. He is in control. Rest in faith on that. Shall not the judge of the earth do right? Yes, He will. Wisdom and power are His.

• Trust the accuracy of the word of God. All scripture is God-breathed and useful. Use it, trust it.

• Rest in hope. He is coming for us. I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, you may be also.

• Praise and thank Him always.

This coming Sunday, we will be back in Daniel 9 and 10. Then here is the order of where we are heading for the next few weeks.

Youth and kids

At youth group this week we have a movie night watching the classic “Prince of Egypt”.

Children’s church also continues to talk about prayer and how to pray. Next Sunday, we will be listening to them after the service sharing about what they have been learning.

Baptism Sunday

Thank you everyone who has said they would like to be baptised. There will be a sign-up sheet for baptism this coming Sunday at church, so please write your name down if you would like to be baptised.

Community

HCC is part of the CCCNZ movement of independent churches, and the Regional Summit is an annual highlight. Hosted this year by Rutland Street Church on 13th September, it’s for all of us!

It’s a time to connect with others across the network and hear what God is doing across the region. Last year, several people from our group attended, and the experience was both refreshing and encouraging. Please come along for this one-day conference.

E4 Camp

Since we are now in the second part of the year, here is something for you to think about regarding the summer.

E4 Summer Camp 15-18 January 2026

Where: Hanmer Springs

Why: Start the year inspired by God

HCC: We are using this camp as our church camp

Who: All ages. There will be kids, youth and adults activities

Great speakers and excellent study stream topics while the children are looked after as they learn.

There are early bird prices and very attractive family prices. Also, the sooner you commit, the sooner you can lock in your accommodation.
