Church Sundays

Gidday everyone, it's Cam here. Mato will be back from Nepal to preach the following weekend, so I'm filling in on the newsletter notes again.

We're halfway through the week, and it already feels a lot different from the last. Not only do we have to work five days (thankfully next week is another short one), but we've gone from falling snow to 28°C. This is a reminder of just how unpredictable the spring weather can be, so please don't forget to say a prayer for settled weather on the Family Fun Day.

This week we thought we would give you a head start on Sunday’s conversation question. A little food for thought, if you will.

• What would you talk about if you shared the gospel?

In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus tells us to share the gospel with others. Have you ever had the chance to do this? Are there any specific verses that you share with people or questions you ask? Maybe you prefer to share your testimony.

This question is an important topic to ponder ahead of our fun day. As we know from the past, the day draws in people from around Halswell, some of whom will have never been to church before.

We look forward to hearing your answers.

This Sunday we hear from Phil, who will be preaching on the Book of Acts chapters 10-14.

Tonight is Emily’s fundraiser quiz night. It’s great to hear so many of you are already planning to head along!

Over a month ago, we gave you a challenge to invite someone over for a coffee or a lunch date and have a conversation with them, and get to know them better.

How have you gotten on? There is still time to catch up with people before the busy Christmas period. You will be surprised at how much more you get to know people when you have a chance to listen to them one on one and bond over things you didn’t realise you had in common.
