HCC newsletter: Mother's day... week?
Sunday also marks the start of our “Women of Power” series.

MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR
Mother's day... week?

Happy new week everyone!
Maybe the better caption would be, Happy “Mothers’ Day week”, everyone.
Before we get to the mothers, I would just like to commend the youth on a very well-done job on Easter Sunday. It was refreshing to hear their personal and communal Easter camp reflections, which featured their God moments as well as their doubts. I really appreciate all the people who approached them afterwards with a prayer for them, a word picture and some encouragement for all of them. As we also said during the service, we would like to say thank you to everyone who was involved in helping and giving at Easter camp and for Easter camp.
As I always say, Easter camp is a mountaintop experience. It’s a whole new world when we come down the mountain and we have to deal with all that is going on in our lives. It is also during this time that the evil one has a field day with our young people's minds if we do not cover and protect them in prayer.
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
My call today is for us to cover our young people in prayer, especially against the attacks of the enemy on their minds. There were also two verses shared for encouragement.
Keep feeding on the word of God.
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
God is using you during this season
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Have a youthful week,
Mato
CHURCH SUNDAYS
Mother’s Day (with dad’s on duty)

We will be celebrating our mothers this week. This will be done in various ways, but the most important is our Bible reflection/celebration. We will be hearing from Isabelle, who is a mother for the first time this year. She will be reflecting on her experiences, but through the lens of 1st Corinthians 12 and 13.
This marks the start of our “Women of Power” series. As stated before, we will hear from four women who have had a chance to reflect on their motherhood journeys. These are not TED talks. These are deep theological reflections that have shaped their decisions, family life and what makes them who they are. Please pray for them as they prepare to share with us.
The fathers/sons are on Children’s church this Sunday. Looking forward to this. Mother’s will stay in for the session with Isabelle.
