MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR
Where have you seen God at work?

We are in a new month, and it's almost the middle of the year.
I do not know whether you realise this, but a lot has happened in the last four months, not just for us as a congregation but also many changes personally for families.
As we start a new month, I encourage you to pause and reflect on where you have seen God the most in your life since the beginning of the year.
What has been encouraging to you? What has been challenging? Has anything been a surprise or brought you joy?
Most importantly, where have you seen God at work, and where have you heard him prompting you? Have you been attentive? Have you been obedient?
As I write this, I think of the words of Paul in Ephesians 5:15–17:
15 Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Looking forward, we have several things coming up, and we would really appreciate your prayers and participation. Here are some key events and dates over the next month.

Thursday 2nd May: Youth group resumes
Sunday 12th May: Mother’s day
Sunday 19th May: Baptism Sunday
Thursday 23rd May: Big night out outreach (Youth group)
The weekend of 25th/26th May: Holy Spirit weekend @ Te Waiora Retreat Centre
Sunday 3rd June: King’s Birthday weekend
Sunday 9th June: AGM
CHURCH SUNDAYS
Conquest from the Book of Joshua

This Sunday, we begin our next series. We will be in the first chapter of Joshua, and we will be talking about change. The running theme verse for this whole series will be Joshua 1:8–9:
8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
You can view a timetable schedule of the next sermon series here.
YOUTH GROUP AND THE CASHMERE PROJECT
The three goals for our youth

It was encouraging listening to our young people, led by their leaders, Zac and Sinead, this past Sunday at church.
It was equally encouraging to pray for the Youth Group space and commit it to God, not just for this season, but for the coming generation as well.
As we start this term, we have three main goals as a group, so please join us as we pray through these:
For Youth Group to develop and build a sense of community and trust among each other and with God.
For individuals in the group to embrace reading scripture and praying for themselves and others consistently
For us to integrate the community outreach through the council with our Youth Group programme, and that these kids will get to hear the gospel, some for the first time.

CHURCH SUNDAYS
Children’s church returns

Children’s church is back this term. A big thank you to all our volunteers, led by Margaret, for the incredible work they do for our young members with so much consistency and dedication.
We would also like to recognise and appreciate Cathy Howe for the incredible work she did with the children over the holidays as well.
May God bless and reward you all during this season of your life giving to the future generation and teaching them the way, the truth and the life.
COMMUNITY
Young Parents Life Group

We had our second families home group this past Sunday. It was encouraging to see families coming together and be willing to study the word of God, not only for themselves, but for their children as well.
The next family’s group will be on Sunday May 19th, 2024.
CHURCH SUNDAYS
Baptism Sunday

The date is fast approaching for our baptism service. If you would like to be baptised, we would encourage you to sign up.
